Microbiologist – Research Scientist-German, vacancy for our Stein based client in the Agricultural and Chemical Manufacturing sector.

Your tasks:

  • Conduct complex and new applications/experiments.
  • Plan, schedule, and execute experiments independently.
  • Collect data, ensure proper documentation, and prepare reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform special experiments related to mechanisms of action, distribution, and metabolism.
  • Ensure safety and responsibility in handling biological materials.
  • Carry out projects qualitatively and efficiently, i.e., plan, schedule, and conduct experiments independently.
  • Collect data, store it in a patent-compliant manner, complete reports on time.  
  • Detailed record-keeping and computer-assisted experiment evaluation (databases, spreadsheets, graphics).
  • Reporting and discussing results with supervisors.
  • Study mechanism of action, site of action, uptake, distribution, metabolism, timing of application, activity profile in different cultures, and carry out routine experiments (testing substance activity).
  • Work in the laboratory, greenhouse, and field.  
  • Ensure safety and responsibility when handling biological material with increased safety classification (S2), sterile techniques.  
    Independently/responsibly establish and further develop methods.

  • Deepen expertise in certain subject areas.  
  • Take responsibility for general facilities or specialized areas.

Your experience/knowledge:

  • Specialized education in Horticulture, Agronomy, or Biology.
  • Experience in microbiology and molecular biology is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in the relevant area.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Good command of German and English, both written and spoken (Level B2 or above)  
  • Experience in handling plants and plant diseases  
  • Experience in microbiology  
    Experience in molecular biology and/or microscopy is an advantage  

  • Due to the variety of experiments and the constantly changing problems, independence, organizational skills, quick and confident adaptation to new issues, decision-making ability, and solid knowledge are required.
