Junior Vibro-Acoustic Structural Analysis Engineer / Aerospace Industry vacancy for our Zurich-based client
Your tasks:
-
Analyse technical specifications, interface documents, and system requirements for spacecraft structures and mechanisms.

Create mathematical models and perform structural–dynamic and vibro-acoustic simulations and optimisations (using MSC NASTRAN, Altair HyperWorks/OptiStruct; optionally Abaqus & Siemens NX).

Conduct modal, harmonic, random vibration, and acoustic load analyses for lightweight aerospace components (metallic and composite).

Produce strength analyses and correlations for static, dynamic, and vibro-acoustic experiments; support test planning and result correlation.

Prepare clear technical reports and presentations (primarily in English) and present findings in internal and customer reviews.

Contribute to the Stress Office’s expertise and efficiency (evaluate new calculation methods, software tools, and standardisation initiatives).

Plan, coordinate, monitor, and support calculation activities within assigned projects.

Track budget and schedule for analysis work to ensure delivery to plan.

Respond to RIDs and close out related technical actions.
Your experience / knowledge:
-
University / ETH Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.

Professional experience in aerospace or equivalent high-tech sectors, particularly in:
-
FE analysis with MSC NASTRAN, Altair HyperWorks/OptiStruct, and/or Abaqus / Siemens NX.

Structural dynamics and vibro-acoustic FEM simulations (modal, random, and acoustic response).
-
Mechanical design and analysis of lightweight structures and mechanisms.
Proven ability to build detailed FE models and perform correlation and sensitivity studies.
Experience with automation of FEM simulations using Python APIs.
Knowledge of structures, mechanisms, solar wings, and vibration environments in spacecraft or aircraft systems.
English: fluent (reading, writing, and speaking).
